Welcome to the First Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, of Alpena, Michigan. We are located at the corner of 2nd and Lockwood in downtown Alpena. The church office phone number is 989-356-1795.

First founded in 1862, First Congregational United Church of Christ is noted for its many programs geared to enhance our spirituality and to proclaim the message of Christ. Included in those programs are: The Music Program which includes Chancel Choir, an Instrumental Ensemble and Handbell Choir, Children's Choir, Gentlemen's Chorus. Programs which strengthen our commitment to social concerns including the Comstock Fund which yearly distributes moneys to various programs and agencies to help fund innovative Christian ministries. both locally and throughout the United States. A wide range of programs featuring educational opportunities for all ages including; Church School and Adult Bible Studies, Brown Bag discussion group, and an active youth program .

Our worship service is at 10 a.m. and followed by Worship Centers and Workshops for grades K thru 12 and three adult classes. Each week a childrens sermon is offered. There is a Nursery provided during services and the church is barrier free. A Fellowship time follows the church service.

Orth is our Pastor, Denise Fusina is our Associate for Administration, Bob Carr is our Associate for Child and Youth Ministries, Betsy Adamus is our Associate for Music and Religious Education, and Judith Case is our Choir Director.
